  • Delivery and cost outside of the Western Cape will be arranged on receipt of order and payment.
  • Cost of Delivery to areas exceeding a 30km radius (to our physical address) will be discussed on receipt of order and payment.

Cosmic Modern outsources the transportation of products outside of  Cape Town and therefore the cost of such transportation is subject to change based on the dimensions, destination and/or weight of the products which are being shipped. Certain items are not available for transport beyond Cape Town due to their fragile nature, and these items will be indicated accordingly.

Cosmic Modern uses third-party shipping suppliers in order to transport goods to all areas outside of Cape Town and can therefore not reserve any items until the shipping/transport arrangements have been finalized and paid for.

To ensure that items arrive in perfect condition; and to minimise the risk of damage in transit, all items that are transported to areas outside of Cape Town are wrapped and packaged before distribution at a starting price of R100.00 (One Hundred Rand) per item, however this starting price is subject to increase depending on the size and nature of the item being wrapped. Alternatively we are happy for items to be collected and shipped for the buyers expense and recommendation, provided it is collected within 7 days of purchase.

Please note that all items bought for local pickup (within Cape Town) must be collected within seven (7) days from the date of purchase.

Small products may be transported via Postnet to Postnet or the Courier Guy with the following pricing:

-Small products weighing under three (3) kilograms in weight or size will be at a cost of R150 (shipping and packaging). This is payable upon checkout.

-The transport costs of small products weighing over three (3) kilograms will be costed by Postnet based on the weight of the item. The balance needs to be settled upon presentation.

Return & Refund Policy

Cosmic Modern makes all reasonable efforts to restore all of our products to the best possible original state, however, there will be minor age and use related imperfections due to the fact that most of the items are sourced from the 1940s-1970s. We take clear photographs and honestly describe items in order to make the client aware of any imperfections and consider such imperfections when structuring the price and description of each item. Items are sold Voetstoots, and due to the nature of  the second hand goods being sold, we unfortunately cannot accept any returns or refunds. Should you be uncertain about the condition of an item despite the clear photographs and description, please communicate prior to the purchase of said item.

A refund or return will only be effected on exception in the following circumstances:

      • Should it be that any of the items were advertised inaccurately and we somehow missed damages for any reason and/or did not make the customer aware of these damages/ imperfections prior to purchase.
      • In instances where the Consumer Protection Act and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act apply – where a customer alleges this to be the case, the onus is on the customer to point Cosmic Modern to the relevant sections of the Acts and prove that they apply.

Returns Procedure

Should the customer wish to return an item, please call or send an email to +2782 613 0027 or email us at info@cosmicmodern.co.za with the following details:

      • Photographs of the alleged defects as well as a full description of the alleged defects;
      • Should Cosmic Modern accept the fault, and that the product is returnable we will contact you to arrange collection and/or contact the customer on transport arrangements.
      • Once the return has reached us, the product will be inspected before the return is processed;
      • Should Cosmic Modern accept that the customer has a right to refund/ exchange we will advise as to whether the customer is entitled to a refund, credit, repair or an exchange;
      • Where applicable, if the customer has returned the product within 7 (seven) days in terms of the ECT Act or within 10 (ten) days if the customer has not had the opportunity to inspect the product, the customer may receive a refund, less any applicable collection or wear and tear fee.
      • Should the customer be entitled to a refund, the refund will only be processed once the customer has provided us with banking details proven to be in the customer’s name.

The customer is advised to allow for a period of seven (7) business days for the funds to reflect once the credit has been processed. We do not accept any responsibility for transit damage. Insurance cost on shipped goods is not included. Should the customer require insurance, it will be for their own account and arrangement.
